Have you ever asked yourself the question, what is my worth? More specifically, what do I matter to God? The bible is quite clear on our worth to God, but sometimes we may feel disconnected, beaten down by the world, or even have strained personal relationships that might make us question what our worth is. If we look at Scripture, we see the answer to that question throughout the Word. First of all, we are the only creation of God that was made in His own image. "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:27) We see in Psalms that God knew every little detail of our creation before we were even a thought in our parent’s mind; "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalms 139:13-14) In Luke, we are told that even the hairs on head our numbered by God, "But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." (Luke 12:7) Now that may seem like random information to have, but what it proves is that God knows and is concerned with even the smallest or what we might say most insignificant details of our lives. It is all important to God! God has a plan for your life, now I know that's not the first time you have heard that. But, it's true! Ephesians 2:10 and Jeremiah 29:11 both give an account of this promise. Paul tells us that God cares for and provides for our needs, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4:19). But the greatest way God has shown His love for us is by sending His Son to die for our sins! "For Christ also hath suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." (1 Peter 3:18)
Life can be tough at times, and relationships can be tested to the point where we wonder where we stand with others. But, as a child of God, we never have to worry if God's feelings for us will ever change!
